Our mission remains! And that is, “To Maintain Safe, Viable, Efficient commercial air service for Hilton Head Island and neighboring communities.” To do this we will:
Encourage and work with our local Chamber of Commerce and County Council to create a positive working relationship with US Airways and Delta. Encourage and work with County Council to expedite the Environmental Impact and Wetland Study that is necessary prior to removal of trees that are obstructions around the Airport in order to provide safe operation of aircraft. Encourage and work with the FAA on the current Noise Study recommendations to ensure that aircraft operations are conducted in a manner that continues to have the airport as a good neighbor. Encourage and work with a Political Action Committee (PAC) to ensure future elected official are planning for the future of the Airport with integrity and purpose. Encourage and work with County Council to develop a plan that will utilize the Airport for a major evacuation and recovery effort.
